So, uh, I'm watching Sense 8?*

And I'm almost ANNOYED that episode 8 is the one where everything GOT REAL. Because I have invested like, six-and-a-half hours in these characters and NOW I am YELLING AT THE SCREEN. WHAT IS HAPPENING. D:LFKJSD:FKJ

(There is still too much violence oh my gosh)

*I tried to watch Sense 8 years ago, when it first came out, but I honestly found it frustrating. I am only getting back to watching it because ladyknightthebrave just posted a video and while I'll happily watch her videos without consuming the underlying media, I was always planning on getting back to Sense 8 so this is as good a reason as any.

I love Sense8 via recap, gifs, some vids. I have discovered a very real inability to watch the violence that I used to tolerate so easily in anything new. So, I can still watch something I know all the beats for, including some slashers, but can't jump to a new thing.

But oh the concept and the growth I got from the recaps!

This is so valid. Honestly, the violence was my least favorite part, I found myself hiding behind my fingers for some scenes, or looking away. It was...a lot. (And I get why, they made it a more action-y series, but I would have loved zero action and all the characters talking and growing, please.)

But getting a fandom from recaps/gifs/vids is 100% valid and awesome!! In some ways, you're getting The Good Parts Version. And the good parts....man, I wish the show was more like that all the time. I wish they had a chance to build out the world building, or give us spin-off ideas, or just let us live more with these characters. ♥
