List of top ten musical songs? Well, this is a terrible question to ask me, because I'm very much a person who listens to a handful of albums over and over and over again for a year or so, nonstop. An overall top list is nearly impossible. Right now I'm listening to Frozen, Matilda the Musical and The Great Gatsby soundtrack all the time, so I'm not going to choose those songs.

So…this is more like the first ten songs could think of (that aren't from only Broadway.) BUT I DO LIKE THEM ALL. ALSO LOTS OF SONGS NOT ON THIS LIST.

1. I'll Make a Man Out of You from Mulan.

MULAN. MULAN FOREVER. DO I REALLY HAVE TO EXPLAIN THIS?

2. Carrying the Banner, from Newsies.

But also every other upbeat Newsies song. (I legit didn't even know there was a Newsies fandom until like, two years ago. I know, I know.)

3. Shall We Dance from The King and I.

In context, it's a bit bittersweet, but it is so much fun to sing. BA DUH BUM BUM.

4. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang! Oh gosh, no one every sings with me when I launch into that one. *bounce*

5. The Plagues from The Prince of Egypt.

It's one of those songs that show how musicals can really tell stories in way that non-musicals simply can't. A montage would never have had the crazy emotional impact of that sequence.

6. Kuzco's Theme Song from The Emperor's New Groove.

This is one of my absolute favorite movies and this theme song is pure hilarity. Kuzco has a theme song guy.

7. Zero to Hero from Hercules.

I sang the ENTIRE SOUNDTRACK from Hercules to L. the other day when she mentioned she had never seen it. It started with this song.

8. Good Morning from The Sound of Music Singing in the Rain. (GUYS THERE WERE A LOT OF MOVIES, OK?)

Besides the FABULOUS dancing, the song is the cheeriest "oops, we stayed up waaaaay too late" song ever. :D

9. Santa Fe from Rent

I have no idea why I love this song, but it was my go-to driving song for a very, very long time. MY BRAIN, I TELL YOU. (I have only seen the movie, because I am terrible, yes yes.)

10. Gotta Get Back to Hogwarts from A Very Potter Musical. I have printed that song out to sing at my Harry Potter themed meal. AND WE SANG IT.

Honorable mentions to so many Disney movies, Don Bluth movies, old musicals, Buffy and Doctor Horrible. GAH. SO MANY SONGS.
