DC is doing what now?

I've heard everything from apocalyptic Bat-family (and other) regression to "this is just going to be a few tweaks, really guys."

I think it's a gutsy move, but not necessarily a good one. YES, they need to draw in new readers, and the intricacies of continuity are off-putting. This has been a problem since before forever. But that is most definitely far from the only obstacle to the casual reader. I think more self-contained elseworld-esque stories might invite more readers in, or cheaper comics, or promotional campaigns, or increase accessibility or publish fewer titles and focus on quality, or cheaper comics.

Although they are giving the women more appropriate costumes, and part of me just can't help but be totally thrilled on that front.

ETA: If they put Barbara back in tights and kick out Cassandra and Stephanie and ignore the later Robins and, I don't know, make Jaime disappear (I like more than just the Batfamily!!) than I will be extremely unhappy. I...might have to go and buy every issue of the latest Batgirl comic now...

More on this possibly later when I'm not desperately shoving everything into my suitcase and pretending that my considerable collection of books and comics and clothing is most totally under 50 lbs.
