LOL Torchwood

eldabeA friend of mine (who likes Merlin and other similar shows) just discovered Doctor Who a few weeks ago, and I've been providing intermittent support as she STEAMROLLS through the show. (She's a HUGE Doctor/Rose shipper, so she kept sending me messages with capital letters and exclamation points and I would attempt to skype America to try and calm her down. We skyped while I packed because she had just finished S3.)
Anyway, she finished Who and went straight to Torchwood despite my warnings that it's a pretty terrible show and SJA is better and did I mention it's a bad show?
Then she became a hardcore Jack/Gwen shipper (which reminded me of one fantastic meta post I have since lost when someone pointed out that the way TW was set up was for the fans to root for Jack and Gwen and view Rhys and Ianto as obstacles for their eventual relationship...) I said that I'm a bigger fan of the person Jack eventually ends up with and I really like Rhys. She expressed confusion of Ianto's sexual orientation during S2. I said that sexual orientation wasn't part of RTD's ~message~. I'm generally zen about the whole thing, and plus, I WARNED HER.
But she just messaged me on FB that she is in the middle of S3 and LOVES IANTO. I'm LOLing a litter bitterly, but my only comment was that I'm sorry I wouldn't be there when she finished. (Running out the door to see a sumo match.) Oh, man.
She's not a huge fandom person, so I doubt she'll shut down over this, but I'm preparing for a long skype call later...
