(Actually, the stuff about experience-taking while reading about gay and black characters was fascinating. Not especially surprising, but definitely interesting.)

At milliways_bar, and in a couple of other storylines, I've been playing a character who's bi and has had some difficulty understanding that about himself. (Canonical, both orientation and difficulty -- the character is Andrew Wells from BtVS.)

I've been pro-gay rights since before that, but I have definitely been angrier about opposition to gay rights since I started playing him dealing with it.
