So, livejournal went down halfway through me drafting a comment over there. THAT was annoying.

I've really come to realize that tumblr isn't going to work for me, and as LJ is dying, I'm willing to stretch my fandom feelers a little more over here on Dreamwidth. I have some worries about this site (perl-based when everyone is going to ruby (apparently), no mobile app, many non-active users, a profit-system hugely dependent on userbase, etc.) but there's nowhere else I'd rather be.

And I adore the commitment to accessability.

I just wish there were more places to meet people? With most of the active communities I see being RPG-based, it's a little harder to say hi to strangers. And the "lastets entires" page is weirdly spammy -- the same three uses putting up context-less pictures, lots of Russian posts 24/7 and some new person with awkwardly-phrased how-to-use-sex-chatting online.

Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. DW is totally my home base in every sense of the word, it's the first site I hit in the morning and the last thing I check before I go to bed, it's brought me the people I love and given me a great community.

Oh yeah. Communities absolutely rock. I am very fond of them, but I rarely have anything I want to post in them, these days. One of the ones I spend most of my time in these days is fucking_meds, where we spend a lot of time shrieking about stupid drugs and their stupid side effects.

Hmm. Years and years ago, I was a DC comics girl, but that love-affair ended a while ago. *taps fingers on lips, attempts to think of people to point you towards*

Yeah, we have a great set of RP comms here, now. Alternity and Milliways moving over did a gigantic amount for that.

Oooh! I know somewhere!!! Not fannish but more RL, but still a good place to meet people: 3_good_things_a_day updates every day, there are some great people, and I've had some fun conversations there!
