Still in-and-out of the internet for a few days, but I'll be brief.

First, the good.

I MET BENEDICT CUMBERBATCH. He definitely thinks I'm a creepy stalker because I may have stood with a bunch of other fangirls while he rode his motorcyclebike out of the theatre and might have yelled "HI!" when he slowed down to go over a speed hump. Because there is no barrier between my brain and my mouth. Really, none. *buries face in hands*

My only comfort is that he'll probably never see me again. And hopefully won't remember me at all anyway.

(HE RIDES A MOTORBIKE WITH THE YELLOW "DON'T HIT ME" JACKET. HOW AWESOME?)

Then, the sad.

While waiting for him outside the theatre (I went to a Q&A hosted by Boyle, Miller and Cumberbatch to raise money for Dramatic Need,) I found out that Elisabeth Sladen has passed away. (Remember, I was for a while, and somebody happened to text me about it.) [profile] fiwen1010 and I just met a bunch of fans of hers, and while I've only seen her in a handful of recent Doctor Who and Sarah Jane Adventures episodes, she was fantastic. I happened to be at a house with the 1997 Dr Who annual yesterday, and I flipped through hilariously dated stories about Tom Baker as the Doctor and Sarah Jane Smith having wacky adventures. I knew that Sarah Jane Smith was brilliant in the shows, but she was figuring out stuff and solving puzzles right with the Doctor, and it was Elisabeth Sladen who brought that to life, and I only hope I can get my hands on some of her old episodes soon to do a proper tribute watching.

It's nearly two in the morning, but I'm trying to fumble my way to saying that she will be missed by many, even me.

With that, I'm off to bed, with weirdly mixed feelings.

I posted this on my LJ on the 15th. Still not quite up with the cross-posting thing yet, and I'm generally more comfortable posting on LJ anyway. I'll it out one day.

Frankenstein. I saw Jonny Lee Miller's everything, which was unexpected because I haven't been reading reviews. I saw a bit of Benedict Cumberbatch's chest.

I am really tempted to do it again on a day when Cumberbatch plays the Monster and Miller plays Frenkenstein, and not to see Cumberbatch naked, but rather because Miller's Monster was so wild, and I have never seen Cumberbatch do anything that was not straight-laced and controlled. (Frankenstein only broke once or twice, and he recovered pretty quickly, all things considered. I want to see how Cumberbatch interprets some of the scenes. I imagine his would be really dark.)

The one thing that really bothered me, even though I didn't realize it until later, is that Elizabeth was fridged. Literally, she was killed by the Monster to torture Frankenstein, and even her own merit couldn't save her. I know this predates the term, and it fits the narrative well, but was she raped in the original? I'm pretty sure she wasn't, and then that whole bit was unnecessary. Although well done, I'll give them that.

ANYWAY. I'm incredibly busy this weekend doing things I was supposed to do this week, and then I'm going to Cardiff on Sunday!!! DOCTOR WHO TOUR AND MEETING [profile] fiwen1010 IN ONE DAY. THE WORLD CANNOT HANDLE SUCH AWESOMENESS.

So fair warning, I have no idea what my 'net access will be like for a while. In-and-out, I assume.
