eldabeFINALLY caught up on Doctor Who!
Oh, and internet? You did a terrible job not giving me spoilers. Really, terrible. It's been less than a week, and I wasn't checking any specifically review sites and I didn't click on any hidden text that was spoiler-warned! Massive fail, no cookies.
It was a solid episode, but nothing spectacular. I had a lot of things to say about Amy and Rory, but I readcopperbadge's review, and you know what? It is fabricated angst. Classic bad TV plot-is-driven-by-stupid-lack-of-communication angst. The only good thing I can say about it is that they at least wrapped it up in a single episode and we'll probably never see it again. (Not to say that infertility isn't a very difficult issue, because it IS. But this episode didn't give it justice.)
And now we can move on to more Amy/Rory, and I'm all for that! :)
It's cool that all the Daleks forgot the Doctor, actually. But it feels like a pale callback to the end of the last season when we were supposed to learn that every thinks the Doctor is dead, opening the door for all sorts of interesting stories of the Doctor working incognito. I was looking forward to more follow-up on that.
I will end by saying that the Doctor-holding-Amy-Pieta-style moment was totally hilarious to me as a comic book fan. I now want someone to edit their clothes to look like THIS
